Update 3/4/09

So the doctor finally called me back 3/4/09 and said that he was very happy with Lily’s weight gain and when I asked if we should increase the amount of formula he said that wasn’t necessary. Yippie. The less formula we give her the happier I am. He also said to get her weighed again in 2 or 3 weeks to make sure she’s still gaining.
Oh and he told me she’s in the 1 to 2 percentile for her weight, when we were there for the 2 month check up she was in the 3-4 for length and 9-10 for head size.
We just have a very tiny girl. She’s 10 1/2 weeks old and still wearing newborn size clothing. This is all fine with me, I’m in no hurry for her to grow up.

Update 3/3/09

I took Lily to the doctor’s office to get weighed today.  8 lbs 3 oz.  That’s a 5 ounce increase in 11 days.  We have been giving Lily 2 to 3 ounces of formula every day.  We are going to increase that to 3 to 4 ounces a day probably.  I’m still waiting on the doctor’s call to see if we need to do anything else.  Also my favorite nurse is going to check with a couple of people to get suggestions on fattening up my milk.

Last night Lily had her first ever scream-free bath.  (This is a picture from a couple of weeks ago).  It was great.  She and I took the bath together and I made the water a slight bit warmer then I used to use.   I don’t know if these things made the difference or she is just growing up.  Whatever it was I hope it keeps up.

10 weeks old. Hittin’ the double digits, Woot!

10 weeks old

In the last week or so you decided that getting your diaper changed isn’t the end of the world ( most of the time anyway) and its such a nice change. I feel so bad when you scream bloody murder when I take your pants off or unsnap your outfit.  Now you usually just watch me or look around.

Something hit me the other day and I thought it might be a good idea to put your mobile over the changing table.  I wish I would have thought of it weeks before.  I could kick myself.  I don’t think the mobile is what made you hate diaper changes less but its a hoot watching you take an interest in it.  I spin it and you wiggle in delight.  It is the cutest thing ever.
