Aloha Friday #2

Did your birth experience go the way you had expected?

Mine certenly didn’t, I knew I wanted to do it all natural.  I ended up having Lily 4 weeks early and after a long labor it ended with a c-section.  You can read more here.

  1. My first birth..yes and no.
Yes, I wanted an all natural birth, that’s it though.

No,my son was 3 weeks early, my water broke when I was getting ready to head to the voting poll in 2004 election, still went and voted though;), my labor lasted longer than I thought, and the pain was nothing like I thought it would be;).

  2. The ultimate end was great but the getting there process was not what I had planned. First child was 1 1/2 wks overdue & after 36 hrs on pitocin I had an emergency c-section. Then we got to spend a week in the NICU including being life flighted to another hospital.

The second put me into labor 2 days before scheduled c-section (wasn’t going to play games that time around! lol). I still had the c-section but the hour before I could get to the hospital was miserable!

  3. Yes and no. Both times my water broke and I went to the hospital knowing that I was in labor. The first time (2 weeks early) I did not progress past 1 cm. Thanks to that they had to eventually give me pitocin. I certainly would not have wanted that. I knew that I would do an epidural if needed and did. The first time I wish I had done it before I had the pitocin. I learned and did it the second time around. Sorry about your unplanned c-section.

  4. No, not at all, unfortunately. After 12 hours of labor they finally decided to do a C-section. Then I was pretty sure it was a girl. This was before the days of regular ultrasounds. It was a boy. All I really wanted was a girl with hair and blue eyes, and all I got was the blue eyes, LOL! I love him to death though!

  5. Well, my head got a little sideways, and there was this tube hangin’ from my belly, and then some guy slapped my ass, but they cleaned me up and a few days later I was sippin some breast milk! Good Times! I know, I have a weird sense of humor, I hope I did not offend anyone.

  6. Neither of mine went as expected. With my first, I wanted to go natural, but she ended up breeched (turned breech at 39 weeks!) and I had a c-section.

With my second, I was scheduled for a C-section, but went into labor 2 days before. When I got to the hospital I was already 6 cm, so they monitored me and I had a VBAC.

I am just thankful for my two healthy girls!

  7. Not at all…either one of them. 18 & 16 hour labors…. ’nuff said.

Just wanted to stop by & say hello! Feel free to come over & get a lil’ crazee on my blog!

  8. Definitely no! I started going into preterm labor at 27 weeks, spent 7 weeks on bedrest (four in the hospital) and then my son still came 5 weeks early. But, thankfully the actual labor and delivery went well.
