Hi Mama

A few weekends ago we took a quick and unexpected although very nice trip to visit some of Waldo’s family by the coast. We never made it to the ocean, but we had a great time. I have met his Aunt Shelby and cousin Keri once or twice before, but haven’t really had a chance to sit and chat. We stayed with Keri and after we got our respective kids to bed we sat outside for hours chatting, it was really nice. I hope to do it again before we move (that’s another post, to be made very soon).

For a while we have been planning on buying Lily a tricycle, but haven’t felt in too big of a hurry until now. She had a blast on Waldo’s cousin’s son’s tricycle.

Just look at that concentration. She means business.

Random Mobile Shots

These truly are random.

I have started letting Lily blow bubbles while she takes a bath. She loves it and if she spills it’s no big deal.

I made Flan a few weeks ago and gave Lily some. She wasn’t too sure of it at first (she wasn’t the only one), but she realized it was really yummy.

I try to do some kind of art or sensory play pretty often (not as often as I’d like, but I’m working on that). Here’s Lily playing with toys in shaving cream.

My Father-in-Law has some fruit trees in the back yard and every year he has to fight birds because they eat his cherries. He put nets over the trees and they word pretty well, but birds still eat the cherries that are against the net. I made him some foil covered tubes that I hung from twine to help scare the birds. I don’t think they helped much, but Lily and I had fun making them.

Princesses looking so cute

My Aunt Kk let me know one day, that before her grandkids moved back East she wanted to have a little princess photo shoot with Lily, Olivia, her Grandkids Tori and Logan and my cousin’s daughter H.  Tori has a bunch of Disney Princess dresses and they would be too big for Lily and Livi to play in, but they would work for some pictures.  H had just been in a school play and Kk made her a princess like dress and Logan has a Prince outfit so they would all look so cute together.  So one day last month I lugged Lily over to my Grandparents house and we got all the kids dressed up.  Of course Lily was in a extra clingy mood the day that Kk decided to do the pictures, in fact none of the little kids were in that great or cooperative of moods.  It’s funny how that happens.

Trying to do a Princess dance. See that arm pointing at me? There was a lot of that.

After a few pictures in the front yard, we went out back to find rocks to use as props.

All in all we got a few good pictures, but we found out that it is really really hard to get that many kiddos to look at the same place and stay still and smile and not pick their noses…

Cousins having fun

Last Friday Lily and I went to my Dad’s for a little while.  While we were there Jolene and Olivia showed up.   I watched Lily and Livi play while Jolene did some yard work for our Dad.

Watching them play together and have fun makes moving back to California one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
