Tender loving care

A couple of weeks ago when I was still a little sick, I was laying on the bed watching Lil play. She walked up to me with a big duplo block, said “baba” and stuck it in my mouth. Then she said “thirsty” and started rubbing my head. I was watching her and she demanded that I “close eyes”.

This little tender loving scene has played out a number of times over the last couple of weeks. I think this was one of the cutest and sweetest things, but for the longest time I couldn’t figure out where it was coming from.

A couple of days ago I was nursing Lil and she was starting to drift off and I very absent-mindedly started stroking her hair and a light bulb went off: I finally got why she had been rubbing my head! I don’t know how I didn’t see it before but I couldn’t stop smiling after I figured it out.

I love that Kid!

This picture has nothing to do with this post, I just loved it and wanted to share it.

Blowing bubbles in the sun

We just can’t get enough of the beautiful weather we are having this week.  Lily has been begging to play with bubbles lately so we went outside to have some fun.  I was shocked because the weather was much cooler then I had expected, but the sun was shining and the birds were chirping so we toughed it out for a little while.

Bubbles always work out the same way, starting with me blowing all the bubbles, then me holding the wand and Lil blowing the bubbles. Before I know it she’s holding the bottle and having the time of her life trying to balance the bottle and blowing the bubbles.

I can’t say that I was sad when Lil spilled over half the bottle and we had to go inside to clean up. It was about 10 degrees colder then Sunday and that really made a difference.

Today is a good day.

I’m sitting here trying not to bump my fingers or toes because they are freshly painted.  This hardly ever happens anymore and I’m trying to enjoy it.

It is a beautiful 64 degrees in early February, EARLY FEBRUARY.  The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and some flowers are blooming.   I can hardly believe it.  I bet its freezing and snowy in Montana right now.

We spent some time out in the sun this morning playing with a toy golf cart my Sister-in-law Christy left here. There was also a lot of exploring behind the shed (it’s safe), and playing around.

I also put my phone in my pocket and enjoyed my daughter without a lens between us.

Spring in Feburary

The day is so nice that after her nap Lily went for a walk with ReRe and Papa and I sat outside painting my toes thinking about how lucky I am.

Life is good.

Following Jingle

The post was supposed to end here, but I had to add one more thing.  We went outside last night after dinner (around 8pm) and it was still beautiful even though it was completely dark.  It was also warmer then Montana will be in April!

Sick girl
Of course I took pictures of my Sick Girl.

Sick girl trying to not be sick
My sweet Sick Girl trying to look happy.

using the nosefrida
In order to use the Nosefrida on Lily we had to use it on the baby too.

sick girl going on a walk
After Lily was starting to feel better she begged to go on a walk.

another use for the nosefrida
Lil had a different idea as to what the Nosefrida was for. I waked in the room and saw the tubing on the floor and her in the chair. She told me the baby was thirsty.

Lily and ReRe
I caught this while Lily was snuggling with her ReRe.

the dedicing face
This is Lil’s deciding face. She was trying to figure out what to draw next. She LOVES to draw.

Lilyisms

Lily says some of the cutest things and I don’t ever want to forget them.

“Pick up me” for when she wants to be picked up.  I think its just adorable.

All of her grandparents have special names, just like mine did.

“ReRe” is Waldo’s Mom

“Papa” is Waldo’s Dad

“Papaw” is My Dad (this is also what we called my Dad’s Dad)

“GG” is My Mom – it stands for Grandma Gail
