In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So Kailani thought that on Fridays she would take it easy on posting, too. I like the idea, therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. Be sure to check Kailani out.
As a renter, when you move out of a place do you super clean it or do you just do the say bathroom and kitchen?
If anyone is a landlord what do you expect?
As followers of this blog know we just moved. We knew I wouldn’t really be able to do much because of Lily so we enlisted the help of some friends. We paid them to help so they were willing to go just about as far as I wanted. But by half way through the day they were all telling me that no one cleans as much as I wanted and no one expects it. I wanted wall washed and the carpets cleaned and the whole nine yards. We comprimised on a few points but overall I got my way. So I want to know what others do.
Haven’t been a renter for awhile, but when we were, and I know my kids do the same thing, it was just easier all the way around to hire a cleaning service – it almost always ensures that you will get your sec. deposit back too!!
I super clean it–I want all of my deposit back and I don’t want them to hav an excuse to say that they need this amount for cleaning, etc.
I always do a good job of cleaning. I would feel guilty if I didn’t. I expect the landlord to fix my problems promptly, keep the yard mowed, and otherwise leave me alone!
I’m not a landlord or a renter but I would expect the place to be clean from all dirt and grime. If you are a renter and moved into an apartment that was clean when you arrived then it should be as clean when you leave.
I always try to leave the house how I found it. So far I have never lost any of my security deposits.
I am not a landlord..but from our experience.. the house always needs to be left in pristine shape. The cupboards cleaned out..the stove scrubbed, frig scrubbed, bathrooms cleaned, carpet cleaned.. any touch ups on the wall. I have learned in the past if these things aren’t done..then… no deposit back..and they bill you for more!!! grrr.
We super clean. Or rather, TMD super SUPER cleans while I sort of ineffectively wander around with a dust cloth. Now we own, so thankfully no more cleaning. It always made me depressed as the places always looked better when we left than when we moved in – or the whole time we had lived there.
